Jan 2023 SoFri: Jeremy Farrance - I'm 2sxc for my Formula(s)

I'm 2sxc for my Formula(s) (Jeremy Farrance)

In this Southern Fried DNN User Group Meeting:

Speaker: Jeremy Farrance
Topic: I'm 2sxc for my Formula(s) (Jeremy Farrance)

The 2sxc data editing UI was once a rigid and unforgiving way to edit your content and data. Over the last two years, Formulas and Prefill and related features have appeared. They've slowly become useful and now have matured to the point where magical (and sexy) things can be done. Jeremy will show some examples and highlight the key points that will get you started on making users love your content editing UIs!

Tonight's Session

The 2sxc data editing UI was once a rigid and unforgiving way to edit your content and data. Over the last two years, Formulas and Prefill and related features have appeared. They've slowly become useful and now have matured to the point where magical (and sexy) things can be done. Jeremy will show some examples and highlight the key points that will get you started on making users love your content editing UIs!

  • This presentation is given on 2SXC Content 14.12.3 running within DNN 9.11.0
  • This session primarily talks about Content Types. Jeremy talked about doing database content with related entity types
  • IN the example, he's showing a Participants data field as an example to show the fields being recommended and prefilled and hinted by cross-related data.
  • Examples of working with Formulas show how you can make cross-relationships between fields and entered values to show or hide, etc other fields based on responses.
  • References were made to the JS APIS and information from the 2SXC Docs, https://docs.2sxc.org/js-code/2sxc-api/index.html
  • In a working session where Jeremy worked through steps from basic and starter example use and building to more complex and sophisticated use, we got to see the both the thought process and power of what can be built!
